The "How to" Guide

School Registration

When you complete your registration to MyLO you will receive an email welcome message containing your unique six-digit passkey. Keep this safe, as you will need it when entering your administration area within MyLO and every time a new student wants to register to use MyLO.

Student Registration

Now that you have a passkey for your school (actually, your teacher will have it) you can start using Mylo.

Click on 'Register Now' above.

Now you have to fill in all of the boxes on this page and then click the 'Register' button at the bottom of the page.

Type in your 'Screen Name' and choose any Password you like, so long as it has 6 or more characters. You will need to know your Screen Name and this password every time you want to use MyLO so make sure its something you can remember, or write it down and keep it safe.

Click Here for help with choosing a password

Now you are ready to set up your profile. This is a page that your friends will see every time they use a special code that you send to them by email, but more of that later.

Logging in

Once you are registered with MyLO you can visit at any time and get into your own pages by putting your email address and password into the boxes under 'Get in to MyLO' on the first page of the site.

Setting-up your profile

Once you have registered if this is your first visit to MyLO, or Logged in if you're already registered, you will see your own diary in front of you. To the right of your diary page is a link called 'click here to edit your profile', click this. Then at the bottom of the page click 'edit entry'.

If you have a picture of yourself on the computer your are using, you can click the 'browse' button on this 'My Profile' page, find the picture and click ok. Now fill in the rest of the boxes on this page, including making up a password you can remember, and when you are happy with what you have said about yourself, click 'finish' at the bottom of this page. (If you change your mind about something you have written, you can come back to this page and change it at any time by clicking 'click here to edit your profile' again.

Using your diary

When you open 'Your Own Diary' you can use the calendar at the bottom right of the page to find the right day. Simply pick the month you want, pick the year you want and then click on the day you want. You are now ready to make a diary entry on your chosen date.

Once you have found the right day in your diary, click on 'edit entry'. This will change the page so that you can type in an entry to you diary. Once you have finished typing, click 'finish'. You can come back to this day and change your diary entry at any time if you need to.

Using your Organiser

Click on the 'Your Organiser' link to start adding dates you need to remember. Pick the Date of the Diary Entry, in exactly the same way as you picked a day for a diary entry. Add the title of your entry in the text box provided (example - Mum's Birthday or maths test). Now pick a day when you want to be reminded of something you have put into your organiser, if you need to be reminded and click finish.

These entries will now appear at the bottom of your diary as alerts/reminders every time you log into MyLO and will only disappear when the Date of the Diary entry has passed.

Creating & Sharing Photobooks

By now you should be used to how MyLO works, so creating a photobook should be easy! Click on the link 'Your Photobooks'.

You should now be looking at a page called My Photobooks. Click the button 'Make Entry', add a name for you Photobook and a short description of what your Photobook is about and click 'finish'.

Now you are ready to start adding photos to your first Photobook. Click the 'edit entry' button next to the name of your Photobook. You should now see six black boxes with a 'browse' button and a text box in each. Browse to pick a photo from your computer as you did when setting up your profile, add a short description for the photo and click 'finish'.

You can now repeat this in the other black boxes below, up to a maximum of six pictures per photobook.

Once you have created your Photobooks, you can share them with your friends. All you have to do is give your friends your Screen Name and the Photobooks Password which you set up in your profile and they can start looking at your pictures, through the 'View Photobooks' link on the main navigation of the MyLO website.
